My descent into Twilight!

I'm Alive! Yes, I'm still here!

I can't believe my last post was on Sept 5th. Hurricane Ike caused alot of damage, not only to our house, but also to my creativity. The stress and worry of being without electricity, unable to get gas easily, and being unable to get back into my neighborhood due to flooding was more than I could handle.

On day five, after my little doggies escaped, I allowed myself one fit of hysteria, and then it was back to work. (The dogs are fine.) We still have a hole in our roof, but thankfully, it hasn't rained anymore. And we were lucky to regain electricity after only a week.

Of course, I can't blame my lengthy absence entirely on Ike. Most of it was due to my descent into Twilight. Yep! I'm officially a huge fan of the Twilight series.

I'd seen the previews for the movie, which is due to be release on Nov 21st. I was interested because, as a teenager, I loved vampire books. I read Interview With A Vampire in college. But Twilight was advertised as a teen novel. Still, I couldn't stop fingering through those books whenever I visited Barnes & Noble.

Finally, I just bought it (Twilight). I was so taken in by the Bella/Edward story that I read the entire novel in 12 hours. I ended up reading all four novels in four days! Obsessed! I barely ate. Stayed up till 3am just to read. A bowl of cereal is considered a healthy dinner.. right?! It was insane. So now I'm a Twilighter. Thank God I found a web site for fans over the age of 25!

So what's going on with my writing?.... Ummmmmmm. Yeah...I think it's going to take a while for me to get my inspiration back. Any advice? I'm open to suggestions.

nterview with a Vampire! Oh my goodness…I can’t begin to tell you how forbidden that movie was to me when it was first released. My best friend and I DESPERATELY wanted to see it but it was rated R and no one believed that we were of age (which we weren’t!). We must have got kicked out the cinema line half a dozen times before we gave up out of frustration.

Eventually we annoyed my mother enough that she agreed to rent it for us when it came out on video and sure enough…we had nightmares for months!

Oh, the agony of it all!

:-) hehehe. Yes, that movie was very creepy. Having nothing better to do, my younger brother and I escaped one weekday evening to go to the movies. He saw some Will Smith movie and I watched Interview With A Vampire by myself. It just fascinated me! I was creeped out and in love at the same time. My mother has always been a huge Stephen King fan....I wonder if that rubbed off??
